Statement of Faith

REDEMPTION MANILA
STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — eternally existing in perfect love and unity.

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. It is trustworthy, life-giving, and our final authority for what we believe and how we live.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man, who came near to us so we could know God personally.

We believe that humanity was created in God’s image, with dignity and purpose. Yet through sin, we became separated from Him. We all carry this brokenness, and apart from God, we are unable to restore ourselves.

We believe that Jesus willingly gave His life for us, taking our place, carrying our sin, so that through Him, we could be forgiven, made right with God, and brought back into relationship with Him.

We believe that Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and even now intercedes for us as our High Priest and Mediator.

We believe that Jesus will personally return, and that our hope is anchored in His coming.

We believe that when we turn from sin and place our faith in Jesus, we are born again by the Holy Spirit and welcomed into God’s family as His children.

We believe that the Church is called to make disciples of all nations, not just to reach people, but to walk with them, love them, and help them grow into all that God has called them to be within a local church family.

We believe in the resurrection of all people—the fullness of eternal life with God for those who receive Him, and eternal separation for those who reject His grace.

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live the Christian life and equips us to serve others, with spiritual gifts that build up the Church, as we walk in daily relationship with Him.

We believe that God has given different roles within the Church — Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers — to strengthen, guide, and care for His people. We believe that the Church is one body, made up of all who have been redeemed by Jesus and made new by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus gave us two sacred practices: water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water, a public declaration of our identification with Jesus in His death and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper is a continual remembrance of His love and sacrifice, as we partake of the bread and juice as symbols of His broken body and shed blood, pointing us back to the cross and forward to His return.

We believe that God is our healer, and that His heart to restore and make us whole is revealed throughout Scripture and still at work today.

We believe that we are called to a life of holiness —not out of pressure, but out of transformation. Sanctification is both a moment that begins when we come to Christ and a lifelong journey as we are shaped more and more into His likeness.
